A new week is here, and so are cooler temps at long last! That said, it’s still summer, so a jump into the pool is in order!

This week’s edition of Music Monday is basically everything and the kitchen sink. What have I pulled together this week? New songs, odd covers, and much more. Make the jump to see the results!
“Orion’s Belt” – Kitty Pryde & Riff Raff: As you may know already, I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Tumblr, due mainly to my violet-eyed cult. The above is Tumblr if it were a young mumblecore rapper from Florida using Instagram effects. Make of that what you will.
“Beware of Young Girls” – Tavi Gevinson: Once upon a time, this Chicago-based fashion blogger wore a big bow on her head that annoyed a fashion journalist to no end. Today, she owns and operates Rookie, is about to publish the site’s first yearbook, and on occasion, sings.
“Burn Down Hot Topic” – Violet Crush: Hate the mall? Despise Hot Topic? Find your inspiration — and lighter fluid — in this extended cover version of the South Park gothic rock call to arms.
“À cause de l’automne” – Alizée: After a two-year absence, the French chanteuse returns with the first single from her as-yet-to-be-named new album. Stepping away from the electronic sound of her 2010′s Une enfant du siècle, Alizée brings us a wistful, dark ballad worthy of Serge Gainsbourg and Ennio Morricone.
“Shut Up and Drive” – Weep: Finally, what happens when you replace Rihanna with Dr. Mrs. The Monarch? You have Weep’s cover of the 2009 hit single from the Barbados-native R&B songstress. The NYC-based gothic rock band features voice actor Doc Hammer of Venture Bros. fame on guitar and vocals.
