At 8:46 EDT 11 years ago, everything changed…
10:16 CDT (11:16 EDT) was when I found out what had happened. I was an undergrad at Wichita State University then, and I was asleep. Maintenance arrived to fix an issue with the refrigerator in the suite I shared with a student from Japan.
Before the maintenance man had left, he asked if I had heard.
The last tower had fallen nearly 50 minutes before.
